Notes:

• With the win, the Galaxy are now tied with Cartagines for the top spot in Group 8. Both teams have three points with the Galaxy standing at 1-0-0 while Cartagines are 1-1-0. Isidro Metapan are in third place with an 0-1-0 record and no points.
• The Galaxy also have the best goal difference in the group at +2 while Cartagines are even and Metapan are -2.
• LA are now 6-0-0 at home all-time in the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Champions League and 7-3-0 all-time at home in the tournament.
• In all competitions this season, the Galaxy are now 10-2-2 at home and have outscored their opponents 29-9.
• Bruce Arena made six changes to the team that beat Real Salt Lake 4-2 on Saturday night at StubHub Center. Sean Franklin and Kofi Opare came into the team in defense, Michael Stephens, Pablo Mastroeni and Robbie Rogers started in midfield and Jose Villarreal started up front. They replaced A.J. DeLaGarza, Leonardo, Hector Jimenez, Juninho, Gyasi Zardes and Landon Donovan. Of that group, everyone except for Leonardo started the game on the bench with Jimenez, Zardes and Donovan all entering the match as substitutes.
• Kofi Opare was making his first-ever appearance with the Galaxy first team. This was also his first-ever game in the CONCACAF Champions League.
• Robbie Rogers was making his first appearance for the club in an official competition since July 13 at Portland.
• Opare and Rogers each made their CONCACAF Champions League debut with the Galaxy, as did Jaime Penedo, Pablo Mastroeni and Gyasi Zardes.
• Robbie Keane gave the Galaxy a 1-0 lead in the 66^th minute, racing onto the end of a Landon Donovan pass before slotting a shot underneath Cartagines goalkeeper Wardy Alfaro.
• Keane put the game out of reach in the third minute of second half stoppage time, getting on the end of another Donovan pass before clipping a shot past Alfaro.
• Keane’s second goal was the fifth of his career in the Champions League, setting a new club record. He had been tied with Juninho and Jack McBean for the club record with LA having also had four own goals scored for them in the competition.
• That was his first multi-goal game in the Champions League and just the third in club history. Juninho scored twice at home against Isidro Metapan in August 2012 and Jack McBean scored twice away to Metapan in October 2012.
• Keane now has 13 goals in all competitions this season, scoring 10 league goals, one in the Knockout Stages of the 2012-13 Champions League and two in the Group Stage of the 2013-14 edition of the competition. He had 23 goals in all competitions last season.
• Jaime Penedo is the fifth different goalkeeper to appear in the Champions League for LA and the third to record a shutout in his first appearance in the competition for the club. Brian Perk shutout the Puerto Rico Islanders in his Champions League debut while Carlo Cudicini shutout Herediano in his first game in the competition.
• Todd Dunivant and Michael Stephens each made their 15^th Champions League appearance for the club, which is a club record.
• Dunivant’s 15 starts in the competition are also a club record.
• Kofi Opare was the only Galaxy player to be booked in the game.
• Robbie Rogers exited the game late in the first half with a left hamstring injury. He was replaced by Gyasi Zardes.
• Of the 31 players currently on the Galaxy roster, 25 have now made at least one Champions League appearance with 24 of them playing at least once in the competition for LA.
• LA have now scored at least two goals in all six of their home Group Stage games in the Champions League and they have won five of those games by two goals or more.
• The Galaxy are now 3-1-1 in Champions League play against Costa Rican teams with all three wins coming at home.
• Of the 14 home games that the Galaxy have played in all competitions this year, eight have been tied 0-0 at the half.
• The Galaxy have conceded just one first half goal at home in all competitions this season and only 11 total.
