In the second in a series of columns for the Los Angeles Times, LA Galaxy general manager and head coach Bruce Arena analyzes Friday’s World Cup Draw and the U.S. National Team’s prospects heading into the tournament in Brazil.

As the all-time leader in wins amongst coaches in U.S. National Team history, Bruce Arena is uniquely qualified to comment on the upcoming World Cup. He led the U.S. to the World Cup twice, including an historic quarterfinal berth in 2002 in Japan/Korea. Arena took over as national team head coach in November 1998 and was in charge for nearly eight years, collecting a 71-30-29 all-time record over that period.

In this latest column, Arena takes a look at the teams that the U.S. National Team will face in Group G as well as the conditions that the Americans will have to cope with in Brazil.
