LA Galaxy officially announce the signing of James Riley

It's official, James Riley is a member of the LA Galaxy.

The Galaxy announced on Tuesday that the Galaxy have signed the veteran outside back who has spent much of the preseason with the club. Riley's move to the Galaxy was first reported on LA Galaxy Insider

Riley has played six games for the Galaxy this preseason playing primarily as a left back due to the injury to first team regular Todd Dunivant. If Dunivant is unable to recover from a nagging hamstring injury, expect Riley to start the season opener against Real Salt Lake on the left side of defense. Once Dunivant returns to full fitness, expect Riley to serve as the primary reserve for both outside back positions.

Although Riley has been signed, there has been no decision yet on trialist Dan Gargan who is still training with the team.
