LA Galaxy Academy stars Malcolm Jones and Jorge Ruiz were named to the 20-man roster for the upcoming Vaclav Jezek International Tournament from Aug. 14-24.
Both Jones and Ruiz were both instrumental in the Galaxy's U-16 U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy title. During the Academy campaign, Jones, a center back, tallied 27 appearances for the Galaxy U-16 team while Ruiz scored 13 goals in 27 games played.
Joining the U.S. U-18's is Los Angeles born forward Haji Wright, who has been a member of the Galaxy Academy for the last several years, but is currently listed by U.S. Soccer as unattached. Wright is currently in Germany training with Schalke 04's U-17 team. Reportedly joining Haji in Germany is his younger brother Hanif, who has also played within the Galaxy Academy system.
