LA Galaxy II clinches home playoff game after victory over the Real Salt Lake reserves

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy II will host their first round playoff match in Carson after their 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake reserves on Wednesday.

Charlie Rugg notched the lone goal for Los Dos as they clinched home field advantage in their first playoff match. With their victory, Galaxy II have totaled 47 points in their inaugural campaign and would host the fifth seeded Charleston Battery if the season ended today.

Although Los Dos could potentially catch up to third seeded Richmond Kickers by defeating the Kickers on Monday, head coach Curt Onalfo is pleased about the team's progress in their first season.

"We have so many objectives with this and we have a revolving roster with everything that happens in this roster, which makes it  real challenge, but making the playoffs and getting a home game is a great accomplishment," said Onalfo. "I hope that we get some good support when we play inside the stadium on Sept. 13. It's just a matter of getting better in each game before that and positioning ourselves for a three game [playoff] push for a championship."
