LA Galaxy revel in 26 pass display that culiminated in Baggio Husidic finish against D.C. United

CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy twitter account refers to it as "Tiki Taco" but you can just refer to the 26-pass that led to Baggio Husidic's goal in the club's 4-1 rout of D.C. United as a stunning passing display.

LA's goal was part of a stellar passing performance by the Galaxy against United as the club made 563 passes with a completion percentage of 85 percent. Throughout the victory, the Galaxy's deft passing seem to befuddle the United leading to a 55.5 to 44.5 advantage in possession that seemed far more than the numbers seemed to dictate.

"The third goal for us tonight was probably one of the best goals of the year," said defender Omar Gonzalez. "I think we had the ball for maybe a minute and a half or two minutes before that, ending with a goal. That’s just beautiful soccer right there and it’s a lot of fun playing right now."

Added Landon Donovan, "When we pass and move that way, you see teams get dejected. They can’t get around the ball, it’s frustrating for them, and for us it gives us energy, it gives us confidence and it’s been a lot of fun.”

Such advantages in passing is nothing new for this Galaxy team that currently tied with FC Dallas in the league lead for total goals scored with 45, but the performance displayed against United was something far different -- even drawing some comparisons to the dominant 2011 LA Galaxy side which is a comparison that this current Galaxy side welcomes.

“I think we know that when we play a certain way, more often than not, we score goals and we win games," said Donovan.
