LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane trains briefly ahead of match against Chivas USA

CARSON, Calif. -- Robbie Keane made his return to LA Galaxy training on Friday, but whether he suits up for the club's match against Chivas USA remains in question.

Keane missed the Galaxy's 4-1 victory over D.C. United on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, but according to head coach Bruce Arena, the Irishman trained briefly on Friday which could see him be available for selection for the match against Chivas USA.

"He's day to day," said Arena. "He was out here [at training] today so that was encouraging. Hopefully it'll be a little bit better [on Saturday] and we can consider him for Sunday."

Even if Keane does not suit up against the Rojiblancos, Arena insists that there is no excuse for the Galaxy to not earn a full three points in the final SuperClasico.

"Injuries are part of it for any team in any sport," said Arena. "When you get any injuries that can't be an excuse because you believe that the next guy can step up and produce. That's been the case for us recently."
