With Dunivant and DeLaGarza out, LA Galaxy face left back questions

MONTREAL -- The LA Galaxy will not have the services of Todd Dunivant or A.J, DeLaGarza for their match against the Montreal Impact, leading to questions about just who starts along the left side of defense for LA.

With DeLaGarza still away from the side after the tragic passing of his newborn son and Dunivant out for six weeks due to a groin injury, the Galaxy will likely have to mix up their squad heading into the match in Montreal. There will likely be no shortage of options for Galaxy boss Bruce Arena, however.

Arena may opt to insert the recovering Robbie Rogers and James Riley for 45 minute intervals or possibly throw in Tommy Meyer at right back and allow the versatile Dan Gargan to lineup along the left side. The options don't end there, however, as Arena opted for a three in the back formation in the Galaxy's 6-0 victory over Colorado that he may choose to return to.

But no matter who gets the call, Galaxy center back Omar Gonzalez is confident that LA will be able to hold off Montreal.

"It's business as usual. Whoever Bruce decides to put in knows that they have big shoes to fill. The surrounding guys around them know that we have the confidence in them to get the job done," said Gonzalez. "For us, there's no worry because the guys that are on our roster are there for a reason -- they're good players. At any point, we can step up and make a difference. Todd, James and Robbie Rogers may be on the mend so we're going to figure it out and that's what championship teams do."
