Robbie Keane goes 62 minutes as the Republic of Ireland draw Germany 1-1

Robbie Keane started as the Republic of Ireland earned a late 1-1 draw with World Cup champions Germany in their Euro 2016 qualifier in Gelsenkirchen. 


The Galaxy captain went 62 minutes as the Boys in Green struggled to generate early against the reigning world champions. Germany pulled ahead in the 70th minute on Toni Kroos' long distance strike but the brave Irish squad stole a point late in stoppage time when John O'Shea beat David Forde from close range. 


After the first three games of Euro 2016 qualifying, the Republic of Ireland sit in a first place tie with Poland who drew Scotland on Tuesday. The Irish return to action in Euro 2016 qualifying on  Nov. 14 when they travel to Glasgow to face Scotland.
