Landon Donovan tells LA Galaxy to be wary of Seattle Sounders FC offense

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy blasted Seattle Sounders FC 3-0 in their last meeting with the club back on July 26 at CenturyLink Field, but they expect a very different challenge this time around in the first match of their two game set with Sounders on Sunday.

Although the Galaxy dominated Seattle in their first meeting in 2014, Donovan noted that his side will need to be wary about a Sounders side that has scored 61 goals this season—a mark second only to LA’s tally of 64 goals scored.

“Sometimes with the way that Clint and Oba play, it’s like they’re playing against cones. They’re both direct, they’re both dynamic and they both move well and see each other well,” said Donovan. “They also a host of complementary players like [Chad] Barrett, [Marco] Pappa and [Osvaldo Alonso] and guys that have contributed in different ways. They’re very dangerous all over the field and they have a lot of weapons.”
