CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014) – The LA Galaxy Academy Under-18’s, Under-16’s, and Under-14’s will return to U.S. Soccer Development Academy action when the teams host their counterparts from FC Golden State at StubHub Center’s Field 5 in Week 9 of the Academy Season.
The Galaxy Academy U-18’s (5-1-2 overall, 17 pts.) will kick off this weekend’s action when they host FC Golden State U-18’s (2-5-0 overall, 6 pts.) on Saturday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. PT. This will mark the first time the Galaxy Academy play FC Golden State in USSDA action, as Pasadena’s FC Golden State plays its inaugural campaign at all three age levels in the Academy’s ninth season.
The action will continue at 12:30 p.m., as the undefeated Galaxy Academy U-16’s (4-1-3 overall, 15 pts.) hosts the FC Golden State U-16’s (3-3-1 overall, 10 pts.) at StubHub Center’s Field 5. Saturday’s tripleheader action will wrap up with a clash between undefeated teams, as the Galaxy Academy U-14’s (4-0-2 overall, 14 points) take on the FC Golden State U-14’s (8-0-0 overall, 24 points) at 3:00 p.m. PT at Field 5.
The Galaxy U-18’s, U-16’s and U-14’s are coming off a bye week after last weekend’s games against Real So Cal and Pateadores were rescheduled to Nov. 22 and Feb. 22 respectively.

U.S. U-18’S TO PLAY LA GALAXY II ON THURSDAY: The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team will be playing against the LA Galaxy II on Thursday morning at StubHub Center as part of their nine-day training camp running from Oct. 23-31. LA Galaxy Academy players Bennett Sneddon, Elan Koenig, Michael Lopez, Robert Knights and Adrian Vera were named to the 36-player training camp roster at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center at StubHub Center and may get a chance to face off against the LA Galaxy II on Thursday. The U.S. U-18 training camp is a cycle geared toward the group that would be involved in the qualification process toward the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. LA Galaxy Academy leads all Development Academy clubs with five players selected in this training camp.
