LA Galaxy II bolstered their goalkeeping core on Monday by signing 15-year-old LA Galaxy Academy product and U.S. Under-17 international Eric Lopez.
A member of the U.S. U-17 Residency Program in Florida, Lopez becomes the youngest player to ever sign a professional contract in USL PRO. In addition to a sterling academy career that has seen him suit up for each team from the club's U-13 to U-18 levels, Lopez has trained briefly with the Galaxy first team over the past year.
“Eric is another example of the fully-realized player developmental system that the Galaxy have implemented,” said LA Galaxy Technical Director Jovan Kirovski in a statement. “We are excited to complete this deal and keep talented prospects like Eric within the Galaxy organization as their careers progress.”
