LA Galaxy re-sign veteran forward Alan Gordon

CARSON, Calif. -- Alan Gordon is staying with the LA Galaxy.

The club announced on Tuesday morning that they have re-signed the 33-year-old forward after his flourish with LA after being acquired from the San Jose Earthquakes. Gordon tallied five goals and one assist during his time with LA en route to becoming the most statistically successful Galaxy player to ever don the No. 9 jersey.

In the 2015 season, the Galaxy will once more be expected to use Gordon off the bench as a target striker option, but with the depature of Landon Donovan, one would expect that Bruce Arena and company will likely require much more from the veteran in the months to come.
