LA Galaxy to face San Jose Earthquakes in preseason friendly

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will face the San Jose Earthquakes in a preseason friendly at Avaya Stadium Saturday, Feb. 28 with kickoff set for 2 p.m. PT, the club announced today.


The match attendance will be capped at 10,000 with San Jose Earthquakes season ticket holders getting the first opportunity to purchase tickets.


The Galaxy will face San Jose in the California Clasico three times during the MLS Regular Season, starting when the team travels to Stanford Stadium on Saturday, June 27. The Galaxy will host the Earthquakes at StubHub Center Friday, July 17 before the third and final matchup will take place at Avaya Stadium Friday, Aug. 28, with both matches shown live on Univision. The Galaxy are 28-18-12 all-time against their Northern California rivals in regular season matches.


The LA Galaxy will begin their 20th season in MLS when they face the Chicago Fire on Friday, March 6 at StubHub Center live on UniMás with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PT.
