Landon Donovan is clearly enjoying his retirement.
The 32-year-old LA Galaxy and U.S. Soccer legend posted an update on his Facebook page on Tuesday announcing a few major life changes for the MLS goal-scoring king.
Less than a month after having Major League Soccer’s Most Valuable Player award named in his honor, Donovan has spent his retirement crisscrossing the globe. After participating in last December’s LA Galaxy Herbalife promotion tour in South America, Donovan has visited India and the Maldives.

“I want to thank you all for your continued support as I've transitioned into a new chapter of my life. I've received many beautiful/powerful messages and gifts and I'm so incredibly grateful,” Donovan said via his official Facebook page. “Retirement has been everything I could have hoped for. I've enjoyed trips to Peru and Ecuador to visit orphanages, Bandon Dunes Golf Course in Oregon, India and the Maldives.
“There are many more trips to come and I can't wait! I've also had more time with my family and close friends over the last 2 months than I had in the previous 16 years combined.”
However retirement hasn’t been all golfing and trips to exotic locales as Donovan revealed that he has begun the process of enrolling in college as he seeks to complete his long stated goal of earning a college degree.
“I'm in the process of enrolling in college and have started many other exciting ventures that I've always been passionate about,” he added. “There are many more intriguing things on the horizon and I'll keep you updated as they arise.”
Donovan saved the most important news for last, however, as he announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Hannah.
“I recently got engaged to the love of my life, Hannah,” said Donovan. “I have never been this happy and I'm excited for our future together!"
