CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo has been named to Panama's squad for the nation's upcoming friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica, the Panamanian federation announced on Tuesday.
Penedo, who was left out of the starting lineup for the Galaxy's opening match against the Chicago Fire, is expected to start for Panama when they face the Soca Warriors in Port of Spain on March 27, and again when they host Costa Rica in Panama City on March 31. The matches will serve as preparation for this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Due to his participation in the friendlies, the Panamanian goalkeeper will miss the Galaxy's March 28 road match against D.C. United.
