LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane ready for Vancouver Whitecaps FC challenge at BC Place

CARSON, Calif. -- Robbie Keane is back in training with the LA Galaxy and after spending the last week with the Republic of Ireland, he's set to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday at a sold-out BC Place.

Keane returned to the Galaxy on Tuesday after helping the Republic of Ireland to a 1-1 draw against Poland in a Euro 2016 qualifier last week. For his first match back with LA, Keane and the Galaxy will travel to BC Place, and play on a surface that Keane has been openly critical of in the past.

This time around, however, Keane is not interested in airing any grievences about BC Place's turf, but rather the Irishman is quick to pile compliments on a much improved Vancouver Whitecaps FC side.

"We know what to expect. We’ve played there before, it’s obviously tough conditions playing on turf but we know how to handle it," Keane said. "They’ve got a good team and one of my best friends [Carl Robinson] is the manager and we’ve seen a difference with him creating a good environment and atmosphere there. It’ll be a tough game, but it’s one that we’re looking forward to play."
