There’s nothing that says achievement in American professional sports quite like a championship ring. From the glittering diamonds molded into a team’s logo, to the names etched in silver, each aspect of the carefully crafted item screams champion.

Typically championship rings are presented prior to a match with the roaring crowd cheering their heroes along as they receive their hardware, but for the Galaxy’s 2014 MLS Cup ring ceremony, the team opted for an intimate team-only gathering at WP24 in Downtown Los Angeles on March 2, just prior to the season opener. Rather than receiving the rings one-by-one in front of a crowd, players received their rings all at once, served on a silver platter by the restaurant’s wait staff.

Crafted by Tiffany & CO, the Galaxy’s latest championship ring is a glittering testament to the team’s run to the 2014 MLS Cup. Surrounded by a base of diamonds, a new updated Galaxy shield with five stars is set in a variety of precious stones. Set around the Galaxy crest on the bezel are raised letters reading “2014 MLS Cup Champions.”

One side of the ring shank is set with raised letters of the player’s name, with the MLS Cup trophy logo directly underneath. The other side of the shank reads LA 2-NE 1 above the StubHub Center with the date of the final below. In a final touch, “First to Five,” the Galaxy’s 2014 rallying cry is etched on the palm of the ring signifying the team becoming the first MLS club to win five championships.

This Sunday, 15,000 fans will receive their own commemorative championship rings modeled after the very same ones that Bruce Arena, Robbie Keane and company received last month.
