LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena speaks after LA Galaxy earn 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena addressed the media after the Galaxy's 1-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday.

His comments are below.

(On the play of Jaime Penedo...)

ARENA: He had an excellent performance today. Real big saves in the first half, got off his line well on a couple of occasions in the second half. Made some big saves, played very well. Stefan Frei made some important saves as well. The goalkeepers played well today for both teams.

(On Rafael Garcia's showing...)

ARENA: "He played very well. I don’t know how much he’s played with us in the past, but he put in an excellent shift today. A very good night. He’s been with us a number of years now, so he’s quite capable of stepping in and performing.

(On Jaime Penedo stepping up...)

ARENA: "His stepping up today was critical. Leonardo has been out, Robbie’s not in today, Jose and Mika didn’t train all week. We were really short-handed and guys stepped up. Gordon was a real man today. Obviously the winning goal, played strong the entire 90 minutes. I think he played quite well. You gotta win these kinds of games. It won’t go down as a classic by any means, but you have to grind it out and we got a critical three points."

(On the team's depth...)

ARENA: "We were a little thin in the week, the concentration and commitment by our team today was excellent. It’s great to get three points."

(On the status of Robbie Keane...)

ARENA: "Keane should be ready next week."

(On when he knew Keane would miss the Seattle game...)

ARENA: "Saturday in Vancouver."
