LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo named MLS Player of the Week for 10 save performance against Sounders

CARSON, Calif. -- The honors keep coming for LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo.

On Tuesday, the Panamanian goalkeeper was voted MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters for Major League Soccer's Week 6.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper set a career-high in saves on Sunday as he made 10 stops to preserve the Galaxy's 1-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC. Penedo becomes the first goalkeeper in a year to win the award. The last goalkeeper to win the honors was Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando last April.

The LA Galaxy goalkeeper is also up for FutbolMLS' Latino de la Journada (Latino of the Week) award. You can vote for Penedo here.
