Robbie Keane trains ahead of Sporting Kansas City match; Jose Villarreal moving forward in injury recovery

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane was back out at training on Wednesday ahead of the club's match against Sporting KC this weekend.

During the portion of the training session open to the media, Keane was spotted training off to the side with a member of the club's training staff. When asked about the condition of his captain, who missed out on last weekend's match with Seattle Sounders FC due to a groin strain, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena responded in typical Arena fashion.

"He's running around out there," Arena told reporters.

While Keane's status is still up in the air heading into Saturday's match, Galaxy midfielder Jose Villarreal told LAGalaxy.com that he is moving forward in his recovery from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for LA's fixture in Vancouver and relegated him to bench duty a week ago.

"I feel good. I feel like I'm moving forward little by little. I'm not trying to push it too much but I have trainers who are trying to help me out," said Villarreal. "Hopefully, I'll be back in full training soon and ready for the upcoming games. I'm still moving forward and seeing how it reacts [to the training]. I'm just focusing on how I feel day by day. .. I just need to focus on getting better."
