LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes says he's ready to start on Saturday after returning from U.S. National Team duty

CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy stalwarts Omar Gonzalez and Gyasi Zardes returned to training on Friday after a brief spell with the U.S. National Team.

Two days after going 90 minutes in the USMNT's 2-0 victory over rival Mexico in San Antonio, the duo returned to the training pitch with the team in full preparation for Saturday's match with Sporting Kansas City. Just what role that the national team players will have is still in question, however, as Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena has told reporters that he will wait until matchday before making a decision on if they'll start against Sporting.

Even though he went 90 minutes on the harsh grass surface at the Alamo Dome on Wednesday, Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes says that he’s ready to start on Saturday if needed.

"The surface in San Antonio was very tough to play on. ... My legs worked really hard over the last couple of days so I just have to do a good job of taking care of them," Zardes said. "I feel like I'm ready to go if needed, if he decides to start me then I'll just prepare my body. If Bruce puts me in then I'm going to play to my full potential."
