LA Galaxy striker Edson Buddle working his way back from injury ahead of New York Red Bulls match

CARSON, Calif. – After missing the last two matches, Edson Buddle is aiming to return to the LA Galaxy’s game day squad for their upcoming match against the New York Red Bulls.

Buddle has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury but the 33-year-old forward was back at training on Monday hopeful that he can be in contention for LA’s upcoming trip to New York.

“My fitness is going alright. It’s hard to replicate the games but I felt good in training today. I’m with happy with where I am,” Buddle who has made just three appearances this season, told LA Galaxy Insider. “The thing is, once I feel good, I want to keep doing more and more. I just need to respect my injury and ease into things rather than think I’m 100 percent.”

With the Galaxy returning to his home state of New York, Buddle promises that he’ll do what he can get on the squad for this week’s match against New York Red Bulls.

“I’m going to train hard regardless but I’ll respect the injury.”
