CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy II midfielder Raul Mendiola was named to USL's Team of the Week on Tuesday after leading Los Dos to their first victory of the 2015 regular season.
Mendiola notched his first goal of the season and recorded his league leading fourth assist of the season as Galaxy II picked up a 2-1 victory over the Austin Aztex on Sunday. Mendiola's game winner came in the 84th minute when Ryo Fujii made an impressive move up field before finding Mendiola, who created space in front of goal and then slotted his first goal of the season into the back of the Aztex's net.
