Bruce Arena provides injury updates on Leonardo and Robbie Keane ahead of LA Galaxy match in New York

CARSON, Calif. -- Count captain Robbie Keane and center back Leonardo among the list of LA Galaxy players aiming to return to the squad for this Sunday's match with New York Red Bulls after long injury layoffs.
Keane (groin strain) and Leonardo (quadriceps) have both missed several matches due to their respective injuries, but according to Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena, the pair are in contention to return to the field this Sunday at Red Bull Arena.
"Everyone trained today, so hopefully they’ll be included in our group," Arena told reporters on Tuesday.
Arena revealed that not only are both Keane and Leonardo inching ever close to returning to the squad, but the players were nearly eligible for last Saturday's victory over Sporting Kansas City.
"Both were close to being able to play," Arena revealed. "But we feel at this time of year we got to be smart with the players and not bring them back too early from injuries, which could possibly prevent them from playing a number of games, so we got to be smart.
