Injury scare for LA Galaxy midfielder Juninho after he suffers a hard challenge against New York Red Bulls -

HARRISON, N.J. -- LA Galaxy midfielder Juninho suffered a crunching challenge late in the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls but the Brazilian midfielder is hopeful that he'll be healthy in time for next week's match with Colorado.

The challenge came in the dying moments of the second half when Red Bulls captain Dax McCarty made a late tackle to prevent the Brazilian from firing a shot on the top of the New York penalty area.

"He was late and everyone saw that. I was ready to make the shot when he came and tackled me," said Juninho. "I think that we should have pressed the referee and tried to convince him to give the red card. ... I'm definitely looking forward to our next game because the Red Bulls are a good rival.

"The draw wasn't a bad result, we have a team to come back and make more points."

After the match, Juninho was spotted speaking the media with an ice pack on his right leg, but was confident that he'll be healthy by next weekend.

"I got a hurt a little bit, the tackle was hard," said Juninho. "But I have all week to get better."
