Former LA Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas set to miss match against his old club after undergoing knee surgery

CARSON, Calif. -- Former LA Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas will not suit up for the Colorado Rapids against his old club this weekend after the Rapids announced that the Brazilian midfielder will miss the next four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery

Sarvas' surgery was performed on Monday in Los Angeles to repair a right knee issue that had been plaguing the 33-year-old Brazilian for several weeks.

According to the Denver Post, Sarvas will remain in Los Angeles as he recovers which means that it could be possible for the Galaxy to honor the two-time MLS Cup champion at some stage during Saturday's game.
