Ignacio Maganto hoping to build on his LA Galaxy debut with a start against Real Salt Lake

CARSON, Calif. -- Ignacio Maganto impressed many in his first MLS start against the Colorado Rapids, but now the young Spanish midfielder is hoping for more as the LA Galaxy embark on an eight day, two game road trip.

In his first ever regular season appearance for the Galaxy, the 23-year-old was incredibly active against Colorado providing energy for a Galaxy attack that was otherwise listless until Alan Gordon's late goal. After the match, Galaxy boss Bruce Arena had high praise for the youngster stating that he played exceptionally well in his first start

Although his debut earned him plenty of plaudits from the team and media alike, Maganto knows that he can improve.

"I felt comfortable against Colorado, but I know that I can do better. I want to keep improving every day," Maganto said. "I want to be more dangerous in front of goal and get some chances in front of the net."

As he looks to build upon his showing against Colorado, Maganto is confident that he can have an impact against Real Salt Lake if given a chance to feature on Wednesday.

"I have a lot of confidence," he said. "I'm going to do my best to make the team even more confident so that I can play more and help the team get wins."
