Jaime Penedo voted Best National Team Player Abroad by Panamanian Football Federation

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, May 5, 2015) – LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo has been voted the Best National Team Player Abroad in 2014-2015 by the Panamanian Football Federation. With 65.5% of the votes, Penedo won the Rommel Fernandez National Award for the Best National Team Player Abroad.

In his career with the Galaxy, Penedo has made 44 starts in goal, posting a 21-9-14 record while recording 128 saves, 13 shutouts and a 1.05 GAA.


Penedo, 33, has made 102 appearances for his native Panama, including caps in various FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF Gold Cup and UNCAF Nations Cup matches. Penedo started in 29 MLS Regular Season matches in 2014, including all five playoff games en route to winning the 2014 MLS Cup.
