"The Team's on Fire" - The LA Galaxy are starting to hit their stride after their second straight five goal performance | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Are we witnessing the start of another midseason resurgance by the LA Galaxy?

It certainly looks like it.

On Wednesday, five different players scored as the Galaxy flattened 5-0 for their second straight five goal performance. In their last two league games, the Galaxy have scored 10 goals which is the highest output in back-to-back matches since the 1998 season, but when you add in their U.S. Open Cup victory over PSA Elite, the Galaxy have scored a whopping 16 goals in three games while only conceding twice. With their two big wins, the Galaxy now find themselves just a point behind Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, albeit with both teams holding a game in hand on LA.

But as much success as the Galaxy have had over the last two games, the team still believe that they have another gear to reach.

“I think everyone knows we can improve on this and we’re still not quite ourselves, but we’re getting better every game," said Robbie Rogers. "We got a shutout this game against a very good attacking team… so I think it’s positive but we still have a lot of improvement.”

Even if the Galaxy still have a few elements of their game to fix, there's little doubt that the team is finally hitting their stride.

"The team's on fire," said midfielder Sebastian Lletget who scored his fourth goal in as many games on Wednesday.
