SAN JOSE, Calif. – LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena spoke to reporters after the Galaxy’s 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16.
(On the win…)
ARENA: “Good solid game. I think it was good experience for a lot of our young players. They did a good job. We had to weather the storm in the second half but did a good job.”
(On his young lineup…)
ARENA: “We try to win every game. We’ll wait till the next game.”
(On Jose Villarreal…)
ARENA: “He could have had a couple of goals tonight. He took his goal well, and it made a difference in the game.”
(On winning away from home…)
ARENA: “It’s not a big deal. We’re going to win games on the road.”
(On Brian Rowe’s performance…)
ARENA: “Solid, I think that he needed this game to get him settled for Saturday. He hasn’t played on a regular basis, and goalkeepers like field players need games so this was a good game to get him some more experience and get him ready for the remainder of the month.”
(On playing Salt Lake in the quarterfinals…)
ARENA: “We’ll worry about that at another time. We’ve got a lot of games ahead of us first.”
