SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy will face Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals on July 14 at Rio Tinto Stadium at 7 pm PT, RSL announced via Twitter on Thursday.
The schedule change was made to accomdate the Galaxy's International Champions Cup match against FC Barcelona at the Rose Bowl which is slated to fall on the date of the Open Cup quarterfinals. As of yet, the Galaxy have not released a confirmation of the date.
LA will be making their first quarterfinal appearance since the 2011 season when they were defeated by Seattle Sounders FC.
