Steven Gerrard was officially unveiled in front of his newest supporters on Wednesday at halftime of the LA Galaxy’s match with Toronto FC.
Gerrard wished the sell-out crowd of 27,000 fans at StubHub Center a happy Fourth of July and the promise that he is relishing the opportunity to suit up for the defending MLS Cup champions during a brief speech at halftime. The 35-year-old central midfielder will be officially eligible to play for the Galaxy starting July 8. He could make his debut as early as LA’s July 11 friendly against Mexican giants Club America.
