CARSON, Calif. (Friday, July 10, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (9-5-2, 29 points) will travel north for a match at Bonney Field against California rivals Sacramento Republic FC Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.
The match Saturday will mark the fourth and final time that the clubs will face off this season, with Sacramento Republic winning all three previous matchups.
Led by head coach Preki, who will be coaching in his final match with Sacramento Republic before departing for a coaching role in England, Sacramento is tied for first place in the Western Conference Standings at 30 points from 18 games, just one point ahead of the Galaxy, who sit at 29 points from 16 games.
Sacramento is led by forward Rodrigo Lopez, who has scored nine goals and added three assists on the season. They have gone 5-2-1 in matches at Bonney Field this season and have scored 29 goals while allowing 20 in competition overall.
Curt Onalfo’s side has won nine of their last 12 USL competitions and are unbeaten in their last four games. They are led in goals by forward Ariel Lassiter with seven on the season with Raul Mendiola adding a league-leading eight assists. Los Dos are coming off of a 1-1 tie against OKC Energy FC at StubHub Center last Sunday, as a first-half goal from Andre Auras was enough to give the hosts a point on the afternoon.
Following the match against Sacramento Republic, Galaxy II will return home to StubHub Center for a match against Orange County Blues FC Thursday, July 16 beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT.
