Todd Dunivant impresses in first performance for the LA Galaxy since April | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Todd Dunivant made his first appearance for the LA Galaxy first team since April 2 in the Galaxy’s 2-1 International Champions Cup victory over Mexican side Club America.

Sidelined for much of the season with a calf injury, Dunivant has only now just begun his recovery after suffering the knock against Sporting Kansas City earlier this year. In his start against Club America, Dunivant appeared back to his old self, frequently pushing up along the left side, and providing steady defense along the flanks.

“It felt good to be out there. I got a lot of fitness out of it, it felt good,” Dunivant said.

With Dunivant’s first team rehab performance under his belt, the 34-year-old is hopeful that he’ll be able to earn more minutes on Tuesday, when the Galaxy face Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals.

“We’ve got two days to recover. It’s about getting the legs back, and get everything going,” Dunivant said. “I’d like to play as many as I can. You never know until you do it. We’ll see how it goes.”
