LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo came up in the clutch to put Panama through to the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Semifinals as he made two saves in a penalty kick shootout victory over Trinidad and Tobago at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

Penedo made two saves during the shootout including a stop of Lester Peltier in the 10th round to give Panama a berth in the semifinals for the third consecutive Gold Cup. The match ended tied 1-1 after 120 minutes with Luis Tejada and Kenwyne Jones trading goals in regulation.

With the victory, Panama qualifies for next summer’s Copa America Centenario. Penedo’s Panama will face the winner of Costa Rica vs. Mexico in the semifinals
