CARSON, Calif. (Monday, July 27, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will travel for a match against the Colorado Rapids this Saturday, Aug. 1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park with kickoff set for 6 p.m. PT live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. LA Galaxy II will also travel for a match in Colorado when they take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Friday, July 31 at 6 p.m. PT at Sand Creek Stadium.
The Galaxy (9-7-7, 34 points) have earned a 34-24-8 record all time against their Western Conference counterpart Colorado, scoring 105 goals in the 66 matches played head to head. The Galaxy earned a 1-1 against Colorado on May 2 at StubHub Center as Alan Gordon scored in the 75th minute to answer a first-half goal from Rapids forward Gabriel Torres. Saturday marks the second and final time the two Western Conference sides will face each other this year.
The LA Galaxy have scored 36 goals on the season, the most of any team in MLS, with a +9 goal differential, the second best in Major League Soccer. They are currently third in the Western Conference standings and in fourth place in Supporters Shield standings. The Galaxy fell to the Houston Dynamo on the road at BBVA Compass Stadium 3-0 Saturday night.
The Galaxy will have Omar Gonzalez (USA), Alan Gordon (USA), Gyasi Zardes (USA) and Jaime Penedo (Panama) available for selection against Colorado. The players return to the Galaxy after returning from international duty at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
