CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, July 28, 2015) – MLS All-Star Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni has added LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes and midfielder Juninho to the gameday roster for Wednesday’s 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Tottenham Hotspur at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (9 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, UniMás, TSN and RDS).
Zardes and Juninho were added along with Sam Cronin (Colorado Rapids), Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew SC) and Waylon Francis (Columbus Crew SC). They replace Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy), Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy), and Chris Tierney (New England Revolution), who had to withdraw from the game due to injury.
Zardes earns his first ever MLS All-Star selection. The LA Galaxy Homegrown Player recorded a banner year last season, scoring 16 goals to set the record for goals scored by a Homegrown Player during an MLS season. This season for the Galaxy, Zardes has recorded four goals and two assists in 18 appearances. He has also featured extensively for the USMNT this season after earning his first cap earlier this year.
Juninho is named an MLS All-Star for the third time in his six-year Galaxy career (2011, 2013, 2015). The only player to play in each of the Galaxy’s 23 MLS matches this season, the Brazilian has recorded four goals and three assists on the year. In his MLS career, the central midfielder has made 176 appearances for LA.
