LA Galaxy set MLS record by scoring the 1,000th goal in club history | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Robbie Keane added another feather to his remarkable three-year tenure with the LA Galaxy during Saturday’s 5-1 victory over New York City FC.

Keane scored the 1000th goal in LA Galaxy club history on Sunday, helping the five-time MLS Cup champions become the first team to reach the 1,000 mark in the league’s 20-year history. The historic goal was part of Keane’s brace in the overwhelming win over the Eastern Conference outfit.

When asked about the record postgame, the Galaxy’s Irish captain responded in true Keane fashion.

“I look forward to a nice present off Chris Klein,” said Keane before pointing to a nearby camera. “He’ll be watching this, right?”
