Todd Dunivant plans life after soccer as he prepares for his retirement after 2015 season | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Todd Dunivant’s 13-year MLS career will come to a close at the end of the 2015 season, but now that the defender’s playing career is wrapping up, what’s next for Dunivant?

Well, according to the defender, that’s still very much up in the air.

The five-time MLS Cup champion with more than 300 career appearances across all-competitions admits that he’s still planning his future but has not ruled out staying involved with the Galaxy. However, the Stanford graduate admits that his interest is primarily on the business end of the club rather than technical side.

“I don’t have any full plans yet. I think it would be hard to leave this game. This game has given me so much; I’ve done it my whole life. I fully intend to stay in the game,” Dunivant said. “I would lean toward the business side over coaching, but I wouldn’t rule anything out at this point. I’ve still got the rest of the season and several months to figure it out. We’ll see what happens.

“We’ve kind of had some initial talks; it would be a dream to work here. This is a dream club. The club has given me so much throughout my career and I would love to be able to stay in it. It would be something I would be honored to be part of.”

No matter what he does, Dunivant will certainly be looking for a new hobby when he steps away from soccer.

“You have to tell me the hotspots to go for shuffleboard and all that stuff,” Dunivant asked a reporter with a smile. “We’ll see. I feel like whatever the next steps is will be a good transition for me."
