Carson, Calif. (Monday, Sept. 14, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (13-10-3, 42 pts.) will host Portland Timbers FC 2 this Wednesday, Sept. 16 at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT in the final home match of the 2015 USL regular season. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.comwith Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s Joe Tutino calling the action live.
The match Wednesday night will feature free parking, $2 tacos from Chancho’s Tacos and $2 beer in addition to free entry for fans ages 12 and under. Select LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members also receive free entry to the match.
With just two games remaining in the USL Regular Season, Los Dos have clinched a spot in the USL playoffs and are just four points out of first place in USL Western Conference standings. Following the match against OC Blues FC, LA Galaxy II will travel to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, who are currently in first place in the Western Conference.
Led by head coach Jay Vidovich, Portland Timbers FC 2 have gone 10-15-2 for 32 points in their first season in USL. They are led in goals by Kharlton Belmar, who has scored 12 times this season. Portland will look to bounce back against LA Galaxy II following a 3-0 loss to Sacramento Republic FC on Sept. 12.
Los Dos enter the match following a bye week in USL play. In their most recent contest, Galaxy II dropped a road contest against OC Blues FC behind a late goal from the hosts on Sept. 5. Forward Ariel Lassiter continues to lead the club in goals with 10 on the season, while forward Jack McBean has added six goals and five assists in 23 games this year.
The match Wednesday marks the second match between LA Galaxy II and Portland Timbers FC 2, with Los Dos winning the first contest 1-0 on July 26 behind a Jack McBean game winner.
