Giovani dos Santos is out for Mexico’s CONCACAF Cup clash with the United States.
El Tri interim head coach Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti confirmed to reporters in Mexico on Monday that the LA Galaxy striker will not take part in Saturday’s match due to a muscle injury. Dos Santos exited LA’s 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field last Sunday in the 87th minute. The match was an unforgiving one for Dos Santos who was subject to several hard challenges on the unforgiving turf in Seattle.
Dos Santos will have two weeks to recover from his injury, as the Galaxy do not play again until Oct. 18.
