Abraham Romero and the Mexico U-17's are through to the semifinals of the U-17 World Cup.
The LA Galaxy Academy goalkeeper backstopped Mexico to a 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Ecuador on Monday in Coquimbo. Bryan Salazar and Claudio Zamudio scored for Mexico while Romero made four saves to keep his third shutout of the tournament.
Mexico will now take on Nigeria Thursday in a rematch of the 2013 U-17 Final that was won by the Golden Eaglets.
