On behalf of the LA Galaxy Foundation, LA Galaxy alumnus Cobi Jones, alongside defender Dan Gargan and midfielder Rafael Garcia visited Bob Hope USO at LAX to serve Thanksgiving dinner to military men and women on Tuesday, November 17th.

Annual Bob Hope USO Thanksgiving Dinner for the Troops featured the LA Galaxy Star Squad with the 2014 MLS Cup, LA Kings Ice Crew, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmembers Mike Bonin and Gil Cedillo, musical guests Brent Payne and the Beatunes, comedy by radio personality Frazer Smith KLOS and Nat Monarrez, as well as former NFL players Jackie Slater, Tony Zendejas, Vince Ferragamo.
The LA Galaxy Foundation will continue their philanthropic efforts throughout the holiday season through the Foundation’s Feast on Monday, November 23rd and a Thanksgiving Meal Distribution at A Place Called Home on Wednesday, November 25th.
Foundation’s Feast is a collaborative event with StubHub Center Foundation, where LA Galaxy players and staff members are able to serve Thanksgiving meals to 250 youths and their families from local group homes and homeless shelters. The event will also feature a pre-meal soccer clinic, arts & crafts and giveaway bags for all youth in attendance. Later in the week, the Thanksgiving Meal Distribution will allow the LA Galaxy to support longtime community partner, A Place Called Home, to distribute Thanksgiving meal groceries in South Central to over 500 low-income families that would otherwise not have the means to have a traditional holiday meal.
The LA Galaxy Foundation (LAGF), the 501 c (3) organization associated with the LA Galaxy, is dedicated to assisting the community in which the team lives, works, and plays. LA Galaxy players, coaches, alumni and staff spend countless hours giving back to the community at local schools, hospitals, fields, and events. The LAGF continually strives to aid organizations that meet its mission of supporting and creating education, health, and soccer-related activities and programs for youth in the greater Los Angeles area. With a constant mission of community development, the LAGF has hosted 130 events to date in 2015, reaching of over 110,000 individuals in southern California through community events and outreach initiatives.
