More than just Galaxy games: Check out other events happening at StubHub Center in February

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Feb. 1, 2016) – A full calendar of StubHub Center event times and information during February 2016 is outlined below. Any media interested covering an event below or receiving additional information can contact a member of the StubHub Center Communications Department.
Monday, Feb. 1 – LAVRA Monday Night Sprints
The VELO Sports Center will host The Los Angeles Velodrome Racing Association’s (LAVRA) first match sprint tournament of the 2016 season on Monday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. PT. The Los Angeles Velodrome Racing Association is a non-profit organization (501c3) established in 2006 to promote the sport of bicycle racing.
The VELO Sports Center, America's largest indoor velodrome, is a 100,000 square foot, $15 million facility specially designed with a 250-meter indoor wood bicycle racing track. The VELO Sports Center is also a part of StubHub Center's partnership with the USOC as an Official U.S. Olympic Training Site and is the home track to USA Cycling's national track cycling program. The VELO Sports Center is the first and only permanent indoor track of international standard in North America.

Thursdays, Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25 – Carson Farmer’s Market
StubHub Center is the new home of the Carson Farmer’s Market, which takes place every Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. PT in Lot 13. The Carson Farmer’s Market, managed by LA City Farm, is free and open to the general public. The market offers fresh produce, quality food and various handcrafted items, including jewelry and other clothing, which will be available for purchase every Thursday. Prior to moving to the StubHub Center, the Carson Farmer’s Market was located at the SouthBay Pavilion Mall.
The Carson Farmer’s Market will be located at StubHub Center in Lot 13 with easy access off Victoria Street at Gate D.

Friday, Feb. 5 – U.S. Men’s National Team vs. Canada
StubHub Center will host a U.S. Men’s National Team friendly against Canada on Friday, Feb. 5, at 7:15 p.m. PT live on FS1, UniMás and UDN.

Tickets for the match at StubHub Center are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets to the match versus Canada on Feb. 5 here. Tickets are also available through www.stubhubcenter.com, by calling 1-888-929-7849, and at the StubHub Center ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT). Groups of 20 or more can order through www.ussoccer.com.

The U.S. Men’s National Team holds a 15-9-10 record against Canada heading into what will be the 35th meeting between the two bordering countries. This is the second of two friendlies scheduled for the men’s national team to wrap up its annual January training camp hosted at StubHub Center. The USMNT defeated Iceland, 3-2, at StubHub Center on Sunday behind goals from Jozy Altidore, Michael Orozco, and Steve Birnbaum.

Friday, Feb. 5 - Sunday, Feb. 7 – Los Angeles Para-Track Cycling Open
The nation’s top para-cycling athletes and world class racers from around the world will race at the VELO Sport Center on Friday, Feb. 5, through Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Los Angeles Para-Track Cycling Open. The results from this year’s event will factor into the makeup of the 2016 US Paralympic Team in Rio. 
Upwards of 50 athletes from around the country and several guest nations are expected to compete in the individual pursuit, 500 meter and 1 kilometer time trial, as well as the scratch race and team sprint.
This event is free and open to the public at the VELO Sports Center.

Tuesday, Feb. 9 – LA Galaxy vs. Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles
The LA Galaxy will host their second friendly of the 2016 MLS preseason on Tuesday, Feb. 9, against Club Tijuana at StubHub Center. The Galaxy defeated FC Shirak, 2-1, on Saturday, Jan. 30, in the team’s first official competition of 2016.

Back at StubHub Center will be former LA Galaxy midfielder Juninho, who was transferred to the Liga MX side this offseason. Club Tijuana is three games in to their 2016 Clausura campaign and are currently in ninth place (1-1-1, 4pts). They finished 17^th in the 2015 Apertura.

Wednesday, Feb. 24 – CONCACAF Champions League: LA Galaxy vs. Club Santos Laguna
The LA Galaxy will face Liga MX side Santos Laguna in the first of a two-leg series on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at StubHub Center as part of the Scotiabank 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals. The second match will be held on March 1 at Estadio Corona stadium in Torreón, Coahuila, México.
Santos has earned five Liga MX finals and two CONCACAF Champions League runner-up spots in the past five years. Santos currently sit fourth in the 2016 Clausura (2-0-1, 6pts).
The Champions League match will be the Galaxy’s first competitive match of the 2016 season. Leading the Galaxy will be veteran forward Robbie Keane and 2015 newcomers Giovani dos Santos and Steven Gerrard.

Saturday, Feb. 27 – Exotic Autocross Challenge

Based out of San Diego, XTREME ADVENTURES is a family owned business and operated by Daniel, Michel, & Alex Lombrozo, that provides opportunities to drive and race the world’s finest and most exotic cars. Xtreme Adventures will design a unique custom course at StubHub Center for participants to drive through using cars like the Porsche GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo LP-550, Ferrari F430 Spider and Ferrari 360 Modena. Those wishing to participate can reserve their spot here.
