CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, March 1, 2016) – The LA Galaxy were eliminated from the 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) Tuesday night following a loss to Mexico’s Santos Laguna at Estadio Corona in Torreon, Mexico, in the quarterfinals. The Galaxy will now kick off the 2016 Major League Soccer Regular Season at StubHub Center on Sunday, March 6, against D.C. United (7 p.m. PT, UniMás).
In the first leg of the quarterfinal series, the Galaxy held Santos Laguna scoreless in a 0-0 draw at StubHub Center last week. The Galaxy fell to Santos Laguna 4-0 on the road Tuesday night in the second leg of the series, eliminating them from the tournament.
In 30 games played, the Galaxy’s all-time SCCL record is now 15-9-6. The Galaxy’s best SCCL finish came in the 2012-13 edition, when LA reached the semifinals of the competition. The Galaxy have earned one CONCACAF club title in the team’s history, capturing the 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
