CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy II head coach Curt Onalfo spoke after Los Dos' 3-0 victory over Saint Louis FC.

On the team’s performance against Saint Louis FC:

"I think we had to break down low-pressure tonight. I think we didn’t do it that efficiently; it took us a while to figure it out. I think we could have exploited the space wide a little better, and I think our build-up shape could have been better. We could have been a little sharper in transition. I thought we were a little sloppy in the first half honestly, but to our credit we scored a goal and then got the second, which is huge because it’s their second game on the road, they’re tired, and that makes it a big psychological hurdle. And then getting the third goal in the second half – I thought our second half was better than the first. Then we closed out the game well, and we got some young players some minutes as well. Overall, it was a good start; we just have to continue to get better each day."

On if this is a glimpse of what Captain forward Jack McBean can do when he’s healthy:

"He’s been bothered with a little bit of a foot injury that he’s kind of fight through, so he’s not 100 percent, but he had nine goals in preseason. He scored two goals tonight. So two games, two goals…that’s good production and that’s what we want from our forwards."

On the USL debut of Jeffrey Payeras:

"Solid job. He and Lee [Nishanian] did a solid job. Anytime you’re getting shutouts it’s a good thing. It gives you a chance to win the game."

On the challenges of the team’s first road match this weekend against Real Monarchs SLC:

"We’re going to be tired. We’ll be playing at high altitude, so there’s going to be some tired legs at the end of that game. It’s going to be important for us to make sure our shape is good and that we’re concentrated. You don’t get a lot of chances on the road, so when you have those limited chances you have to bury them."
