LA Galaxy Academy forward Ethan Zubak making an impact with LA Galaxy II | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – LA Galaxy Academy product Ethan Zubak is making waves with LA Galaxy II after a remarkable showing with Los Dos a week ago.

During Galaxy II’s dramatic 3-3 comeback against Real Monarchs in Salt Lake City, the 17-year-old was at the forefront scoring a goal and then setting up a second before Jack McBean added a third in the dying moments.

After such a strong showing in just his second professional appearance, Galaxy II head coach Curt Onalfo was overjoyed with the performance of the academy forward.

“He had such a positive impact on the game. He came in and scored, set up a goal, and nearly scored a second one. In 20 minutes, the guy produced a goal and got an assist,” Onalfo told LAGalaxy.com. “What we tell our attacking players all the time is that this is a results-oriented business, and if you’re an attacking player then you need to produce. The way you produce is by getting assists and goals; I was really pleased with the fact that he was able to come in and have that kind of impact.”

For the youngster from Corona, California, to have such an impact in just his second professional appearance was quite an experience for a player hungry to make a name for himself.

“It was pretty incredible. I didn’t know I was going to get on, but my name was called. As a forward, when you’re down, it’s one of the easier situations to get into because I just left it all out there,” Zubak said. “It felt normal. Scoring the first goal helped me get my confidence up and then helping up the second. We knew it was coming after the first goal, and it rolled and flowed.”
