CARSON, Calif. – Robbie Keane is getting closer to returning to the field, but his status for this Sunday’s match against Sporting Kansas City is still uncertain.
The 35-year-old Irish forward recently returned to full training despite undergoing right knee surgery last month. Keane has appeared confident that he’ll return soon, even posting an Instagram video of him scoring during practice last weekend.
Despite Keane’s apparent optimism, Galaxy boss Bruce Arena has yet to declare that the Irish striker will be available against Sporting.
“I think he probably needs another week,” Arena said. “We’ll see.”
