MONTREAL – The LA Galaxy have strung together a few positive results on the road in recent weeks, but after racking up two straight draws, Los Angeles is adamant that they’re out for victories.
After struggling on the road for much of the 2014 and 2015 campaigns, the Galaxy started this season with a respectable 1-1-3 record away from StubHub Center. Since their lone road win of the campaign on April 15, the Galaxy have earned back-to-back draws on the road against Sporting Kansas City and the Philadelphia Union.
However, as the team prepares for this Saturday’s clash with the Montreal Impact, one of Los Angeles’ key veterans believes that the time is now to turn those draws into wins.
“If we tighten up defensively and stop conceding goals and add a few more clean sheets, then I believe that we’ll be nearly there. I believe this team is capable of not just winning at home but also has the team to go on the road and dominate teams to get maximum points,” Steven Gerrard said recently. “I don’t think this club should be happy with just getting points on the road. For me, it’s the number one club in the country, and we need to prove that by going away to teams and taking maximum points.”
